Job Title: Office/Community Manager

CBL is a city centre business, providing coworking, meeting room hire, and a variety of business support packages for the growing business community of Cambridge. We are a small team that have been here since January 2013 and we provide, not just the space, but also a place for professionals to work from and connect with other businesses.

We are currently looking for an individual to join our team, who enjoys working in an open plan office, is outgoing and confident, with a good level of administrative experience.

Based at: Cambridge Business Lounge, 1st floor, 52 Burleigh Street, CB1 1DJ

Job Purpose Summary: Part time/Job Share

Manage day to day running of a small Cambridge based business

Hours of work:

Monday: 0815 – 1745

Wednesday: 0945 –1915

Friday: 0815 – 1745

Salary: £20,000 pro rata

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day running of the office. This includes:
    • Organise bookings/appointments for co-working, meeting room, events and training requirements (catering bookings where required) and maintain appointment diary.
    • Meet and greet visitors to CBL and our clients.
    • Provide tours of facilities to new enquiries
    • Provide telephone support to the business e.g. taking bookings, providing information as requested, etc
  • Receive and sort mail and deliveries, both for CBL and our clients, as well as provide other general administrative support.
  • Support content marketing activity, e.g blog posts and social media.
  • Assist and lead marketing and advertising projects for internal and external distribution.
  • Manage the Virtual Address and Virtual Reception services for all CBL clients.
  • Maintain and improve any administrative systems as required
  • Maintain the efficiency and good working conditions of the facilities.

Buildings & Operations responsibilities:

  • Open and secure facilities.
  • Manage a tidy and efficient coworking space.
  • Prepare and facilitate meeting rooms when required.
  • Maintain communal areas, including maintenance of stock requirements.
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • Ensure 1st Floor meets health and safety requirements and report any issues to building or communal areas to landlord and/or senior management and communicate effectively with clients.


Individual must:

  • Be proficient in use of MS Office suite and Google products (e.g. Google Docs, Mail, etc)
  • Must be confident with social media.
  • Be confident to communicate with members of the public in an articulate and personable manner.
  • Be flexible in attitude and well presented.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, ability to take the initiative, be responsible and reliable.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience through education or work of the above qualities, tasks and responsibilities.
  • Be able to provide 2 business referees from the past 2 years.
